Curses and their Removal by David Furlong
Curses can be laid against people as well as places. The tradition of cursing people is very ancient and they are quite common practise in some cultures, particularly in Asia and Africa (voodoo), but not so common in Europe, although I have a Scottish acquaintance who tells me that cursing is quite common in Scotland. At one time she had, in a moment of frustration and anger, cursed a plumber for not carrying out some work satisfactorily. When she rang to speak to him again his wife said that he had just had an accident (about the time that the curse was laid) and was now in hospital. She felt quite mortified after hearing this an resolved never to act in the same way again, even as a way of letting off 'steam'.

The power of curses
Effectively a curse is a very strong focused thought that wishes to either harm or manipulate any particular situation or person. They are often enacted in a ritualistic way, which helps the practitioner focus their intention. When we are thinking in a normal way the 'thought' energy flows out from us like the ripples from a pebble thrown into a pond. Concentrated thought in the form of a curse is more akin to a laser beam with great powers of penetration, which is why they can be so destructive. Occasionally spirits are invoked, as part of the ritual, and sometimes against their will, to effect a curse. In these cases both the spirit perpetrator, sometimes from the elemental kingdoms, as well as the curse itself needs to be released.
Curses can be quite difficult to detect unless you possess good psychic vision. Just because a person has a run of 'bad luck', do not assume that they have been cursed, there can be other causes such as your inner disposition (do you see your glass as half full or half empty?) or your personal karma. Equally a curse should not be ruled out, and appropriate steps should be taken to lift it if one has been laid.
To lift a curse you will need to be able to wield a stronger energy than that effected by the person who laid it. Whether you are able to do this or not you will only come to discover when you attempt to lift the curse. If you are not powerful enough you may well will get some form of psychic kick-back; so always ask first of your guides or 'Higher-Self', whether you should proceed or not. If you can work within a group context so much the better. The first step is to put up your protections and then call on the sword of the Archangel Michael, which you must wield yourself to cut the curse. You might imagine this as some form of energy link going into the body. When the curse has been cut return any loose ends back to the sender and then give healing to the area within the person (or yourself) where the curse has attached.
An example of a curse that I dealt with many years ago is given below:
Many years ago I got to know an individual who had experienced an amazing run of bad luck. In most instances this is a result of one's karma, but on this particular occasion I became aware that someone had laid a curse against this individual, so in a quiet moment I carried out the necessary steps to lift the curse, which was successfully done. One of the manifestations of this particularly nasty disturbance was the inability of the person in question was to sell his property, which had been on the market for about five years. He had often got to the contract stage but then for different reasons they had always fallen through. Within three days of lifting the curse he rang to let me know that he had received several offers for the property, one of which seemed very positive and, indeed, proved so, for the sale was finalised about six weeks later.
